My week away...

Well, now that i'm back and have a bit of time, it's about time that i updated. My week in Rocky was... good and bad. I got into Rocky on Friday afternoon, was a fairly good flight. But i was tired! Saturday i went to Sabbath School and Church, saw the youth and had a very quick chat to everyone. Then it was off to Sarah's wedding.

Sarah looked absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony was beautiful, unfortunately my camera decided to die right after she'd walked down the isle. But i did get some photos, here are two...

Sunday i spent with the guys, it was really great to catch up with them, might post photos of them later if i bother to... Was a good day tho, hadn't seen some of them for ages. We went out for lunch (once we'd managed to wake Scott up!!) to Sizzlers and watched a movie.

Monday uni started. What can i say, 9-5 monday to thursday of stats... actually tho, by the end i actually do understand the majority of it all. We learnt how to use a program called SPSS, which does all the equations for you, and you interpret the results for the significance levels etc. There was around 50 of us, which surprised me, i didn't think that there would be that many! As per usual, there were only about 5 round my age, it's a wierd feeling.

So, i flew home on Friday morning, took the train to Strathfild and waited there for Clinton. We then went to the SAN and picked up Kelly and Sharona and drove back to college. It was great fun, those girls are great! Poor Kelly tho, Clinton was a bit of a terror! We had stopped at a service station and Clinton was reversing and made a comment about a small girl somewhere behind the car. (There was actually a girl and her mother there) He got this horrid idea... he slammed on the brakes suddenly and Kelly and Sharona screamed thinking we'd hit the girl! Well, Clinton nearly died laughing! And Kelly wanted to kill him i think... was a really good reaction tho!

Anyway, so now everyone is starting to arrive back at college, it's wonderful! I have to good friends from Rocky at college this year. Lydia and Ebonee. I've seen Lydia, but not Ebonee yet.

Had tea at Jen & Aarons place with Liss, Shellie and Maddy. Was great to see them all. It's just plain great to have everyone back at college again!

See ya's soon!

Life

Well, life is busy at the moment. Not, that i'm complaining of course. I wouldn't change a thing at the moment.

My assignment is due tommorow, it's currently 500 words short and i haven't even made it run smoothly yet. So that'll be a breeze. Will get both the parents to proof read it just to make sure i can pull off another D or even better, a HD.

Wednesday i'm going to go and visit my wonderful boyfriend. I'll have to catch the trains by myself (for a Rocky girl whose only ever been on as many trains as fingers, this is a scary thought), but if i get to see Clinton, it's all worth it.

Then on friday i fly to Rocky. Saturday is Sarah's wedding. I am so excited and happy for her. Oh, that reminds me, i have to work out what is expected of me at uni residential school. What are we going to learn in a week when we haven't even started the subject yet? Should be intersting... One of my good mates from Rocky has got himself a girl *yay*, so that's some great news.

Well, not sure if i'll be able to get online while i'm in Rocky and the next few days could be a lil busy, so if i don't get online before then, i'll be back on the 25th!

Hiking Trip

Well, where do I start?

Friday we met up at Central station, then traveled over on the ferry and started walking. We walked 8 kms on the first day and camped the night at the beach. It was a beautiful spot to camp. The army was practicing parachuting into the ocean, they had to wait there for a while, then boats would come and pick them up and take them to the shore. They had to carry their wet parachute (which aparently weighed 120kgs) along the beach and then wade/swim through a lagoon and then crawl up the bank. We couldn't see that much, because it was at night, but they had glow sticks which made it look quite funny!

The next day we set off again, and walked 15kms. I nearly died! With my knee being the way it is, and my ankle wasn't all that happy either.... But Clinton looked after me *grins*. No, he was a true gentleman and looked after me the entire way. The last bit was rather hilly and my knees weren't that happy.

But, i am glad that i went. I had a good time, sore knees/ankle and all! If you want the long version, ask Clinton or Braden.

*EDIT*
I have found a map of where we walked, it's not to scale but you can get the idea then. We went from Bundeena to Wattamolla, then Wattamolla to Otford.

Happy days!

Well, I think I actually have something to post about now! :o) Yesterday was a good day. A very good day. A special someone came into my life. You have no idea how happy and relieved I was to find out that it was me he liked. Some of my poor friends had to put up with me for a week and a half while I worried over it. But everything is good now. My parents think he's great and his father is really happy too, so things are looking really good. Not everyone knows yet, but we've been able to tell most of our closest friends so far.

Next biggest dilemma is whether I can go hiking this weekend. I'd love to go, but my knees will probably disagree with me and my assignment is due on the 15th. And i'd also have to convince my parents to let me go too, which would be the biggest battle.

So yes, that's my happy news! :o)

Peacemaker-soul

You Are a Peacemaker Soul

You strive to please others and compromise anyway you can.
War or conflict bothers you, and you would do anything to keep the peace.
You are a good mediator and a true negotiator.
Sometimes you do too much, trying so hard to make people happy.

While you keep the peace, you tend to be secretly judgmental.
You lose respect for people who don't like to both give and take.
On the flip side, you've got a great sense of humor and wit.
You're always dimplomatic and able to give good advice.

Souls you are most compatible with: Warrior Soul, Hunter Soul and Visionary Soul

What do you think guys? True or not?

(I'll try to post something meaningful soon...hehe)

The Pebble

The Pebble

Many years ago in a small village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village money lender. The money lender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmerbeautiful daughter. So he proposed a bargain.

He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his daughter. Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the proposal. So the cunning money lender suggested that they let providence decide the matter. He told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag.

1) If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her father's debt would be forgiven.
2) If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven.
3) But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer's field. As they talked, the money lender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick a pebble from the bag.

Now, imagine that you were standing in the field. What would you have done if you were the girl? If you had to advise her, what would you have told her?

Careful analysis would produce three possibilities:
1. The girl should refuse to take a pebble.
2. The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the money lender as a cheat.
3. The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to save her father from his debt and imprisonment.

Take a moment to ponder over the story. The above story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking. The girl's dilemma cannot be solved with traditional logical thinking. Think of the consequences if she chooses the above logical answers.

What would you recommend the girl?

So, what would you guys do? I'll post what she did in about a week, or if someone gets it right.

Another great Sabbath

Sabbaths just seem to be so much fun. Yesterday i went to Hillview Church where we had a really good S.S. lesson and church. Then we headed off to the park for a picnic, which was great fun and a great chance for everyone to catch up and chat. Then, we went 4WDing. I took my video camera that i'd got for Christmas so i got a little bit of our adventure of tape now. Not to mention Clinton's monologue.. hehe!

So yeh, another great Sabbath day!

That's God

I got this from a friend, i think it's really nice and had to share it with you.

*~THAT'S GOD ~*

Have you ever been just sitting there and all of a sudden you feel like doing something nice for someone you care for. . .
THAT'S GOD. . . He talks to you through the Holy Spirit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever been down and out and nobody seems to be around for you to talk to........
THAT'S GOD ... He wants you to talk to Him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever been thinking about somebody that you haven't seen in a long time and then next thing you know you see them or receive a phone call from them. . .
THAT'S GOD . . . there is no such thing as coincidence.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever received something wonderful that you didn't even ask for, like money in the mail, a debt that had mysteriously been cleared, or a coupon to a department store where you had just seen something you wanted, but couldn't afford.
THAT'S GOD.... He knows the desires of your heart........
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever been in a situation and you had no clue how it is going to get better, but now you look back on it. . .
THAT'S GOD........... He passes us through tribulation to see a brighter day. .

What's important to you?

Ok, so if you were faced with the dilemma of a burning house, 5 mins to get anything out that you could, what would you take?

It would be so hard to think of what to take. How to you measure what you treasure or value most? Things can be bought again and replaced, but memories cannot be. I think i'd take my computer and photo albums. They hold many memories that i would hate to loose. Then what? Would i take my formal dress, which has many memories attached to it, or the teddy that my best friend gave me, or my books?

It's interesting... Sit down for a minute and ask yourself what are the top 5 things that you would get. Does it reflect moments in your life, people or somethings else? How do you define memories? Do we need to have something that we can look at or touch? Or can we just simply rely on that memory of the event?

Anyway, i'm just really putting off doing my assignment! Hmm,I have 6 articles that i have to critique, each being at least 350 words, the assignment in total 3000 words. The subject? - Performance Management. You know, it's not really that bad. The last assignment was written in a day, was short or words and i still got a Distinction.. imagine if i actually do this assignment what could happen! lol
